3M Automotive Window Film Ceramic IR Series is a nano-ceramic film. Tiny ceramic particles absorb infrared light, the part of sunlight that you feel as heat on your skin.
Many people search for it as “3M IR ceramic,” “3M ceramic IR,” or “3M IR tint.” It’s all the same film. The IR stands for infrared.
The film has no metal in it. That matters more than you’d think (see the benefits below).

The film is metal-free, so it won’t interfere with phone signals, GPS, or satellite radio, including 5G. Older metallic films can cause dropouts. This one doesn’t.
UV rays fade leather, crack dashboards, and age fabric. Blocking nearly all UV helps your interior look newer, longer.
Low reflectivity means no mirror look. You get a clear view out and less squinting on the 215 at sunset.
Metal film can corrode over time. A non-metal design avoids the problem.
